Key habits of the oldest community in the world. Ikigai (III)

They usually practice daily soft movements, morning warm-up exercises, stretching, oriental disciplines such as Tai Chi, Qigong, Yoga, all of which are very beneficial for the balance of the soul, body and mind, and very appropriate for the elderly.

What are the keys to their habits and lifestyle?

  • They all have a vegetable garden, or tea/mangoes plantations, etc., which they take care of every day.

  • They help each other in the community (planting rice, building a house), and they cultivate friendships every day.

  • They celebrate everything, even the little things. Music, singing, dancing is essential in their day to day life.

  • There is enjoyment and relaxation in what they do. They smile, they live without haste and follow good daily routines such as getting up early, walking.

  • They show passion for what they do no matter how unimportant it may seem.

  • They are always busy, with various tasks that also allow them to relax. You don’t see old people on a bench doing nothing.
